BLACKBURN TENNIS CLUB

This community tennis club located in Blackburn Hamlet features six courts with lights for evening play and a

well-equipped, comfortable clubhouse. Activities include lessons for all ages, daily and weekly round robins, club tournaments and participation in inter-club city and N.C.T.A. leagues.

MEMBERSHIP FEES - 2000

• The above fees are for members of the Blackburn Community Association. Non-B.C.A. members, add $10.00.

• Families with more than two (2) adults (over the age of 18), add $10.00.

• Membership in the Blackburn Tennis Club is contingent upon acceptance and observance of club rules and etiquette

  guidelines issued to members and posted in the clubhouse.

• Membership shoe tags will be issued upon payment of membership fees and full playing privileges are conditional on

  the wearing of these tags.

REGISTRATION

Registration will take place at the Blackburn Tennis Clubhouse, 2669 Innes Rd., Saturday, May 12 and Saturday, May 19, 2001 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Special "Early Bird" fees ($5.00 off regular fees) will be available on these dates only. Anyone wishing to register after these dates may apply to the court monitor at the clubhouse. Make cheques payable to Blackburn Tennis Club.

LESSONS

Junior Tennis Program

• The Blackburn Tennis Club has designed a junior tennis program with qualified instructors using Tennis Canada's latest

   teaching methods.

• Three two-week sessions for children 6 and up will be held: July 2 - 13, July 16 - 27, July 30-August 10

• The hourly choices for children under 10 will be 12:00 - 12:30 p.m.;  for ages 10 and 11, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.;  for ages

  12 and 13, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.;  for ages 14 and over, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Fees for each two-week session: $30.00 for children

  under 10, and $60.00 for the other age groups ($10.00 extra for non-members).

• Hats and sunscreen are mandatory at all lessons.

Group And Private Lessons

• Group lessons for adults will be offered in May. For more information concerning schedules and fees, call John Benfield

  at 824-5083.

• Private lessons are available for all levels of play. Ask at registration or call the clubhouse (824-0002)

COURT OPERATIONS

1.       When the court monitors are on duty, courts may be reserved by telephone (824-0002) on day of play only.

2.       When court monitors are not on duty, players may use the white board to reserve courts on day of play only.

3.       Tennis shoes, membership tags and normal tennis attire (including shirts) must be worn on courts at all times.

4.       Only adults may reserve courts 1 to 4 every evening, except Thursday. On Thursday evening, they may only reserve courts 5 to 6.

5.       Both juniors and adults may book courts 5 and 6 every evening, except Thursday.
